FLORIDA TOBACCO EDUCATION AND USE PREVENTION ADVISORY COUNCIL

On November 7, 2006, the people of the State of Florida adopted Amendment 4, requiring funding of a Comprehensive Statewide Tobacco Education and Prevention Program.  The Amendment resulted in implementing legislation which is codified in 381.84, Florida Statutes.

The statute creates several program compenents, including a Tobacco Education and Use Prevention  Advisory Council consisting of 23 members.  While advisory in its capacity, the Council represents an impressive selection of experts in and advocates for tobacco prevention and control from Florida and the nation.
